Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior is thrilled to have Reece James committed to the club until 2032, calling him the “best player in world football in his position.” Rosenior praised James for choosing to stay at Chelsea despite having many opportunities to leave, citing his belief and confidence in the club's direction.

James, 26, has been an integral part of Chelsea's success, lifting five major trophies, including the Champions League and Club World Cup. Rosenior highlighted James' exceptional skills, including his technical ability, athleticism, and humility, making him a leader on and off the pitch.

Chelsea will look to bounce back from their Champions League defeat against Paris Saint-Germain when they host Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Rosenior is focused on getting his team ready for the game, despite their recent setback.

Rosenior is eager to see his team bounce back and push for a top-four spot, which would guarantee a Champions League spot for next season, leapfrogging Aston Villa in the process

Rosenior's Delight with James' Contract Extension

Liam Rosenior, Chelsea's head coach, is thrilled to have Reece James commit to the club until 2032, calling him “the best player in world football in his position.”

Reece James, the England international, has expressed his excitement about extending his contract, stating, “I am over the moon to have extended my contract - Chelsea means so much to me.”

Rosenior Praises James' Leadership

Rosenior praises James' leadership and humility, saying, “For as long as I'm here, he'll be my leader.”

“We've secured the best player in world football in his position,” Rosenior said.

“When you meet Reece, you see him from afar, you see he can play many positions, and he's technically brilliant. What impresses me most is his humility and who he is as a person. For as long as I'm here, he'll be my leader.”

Liam Rosenior is keeping his focus on the immediate task at hand, which is Saturday's Premier League match against Newcastle United. When asked if the Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain takes priority, he firmly stated, “I don't prioritise any competition.”

Rosenior also addressed the incident involving Pedro Neto, who pushed a ball boy during the first leg against PSG. “I genuinely have not seen what happened,” Rosenior said, adding that Neto has apologised for his actions. The winger is now facing disciplinary proceedings from UEFA, which could result in a suspension for the second leg.

“I don't prioritise any competition. I've seen teams come back from three goals down in the Champions League many times. We still have a good chance if we can score the first goal next week, after tomorrow's important game.

“I've seen the incident back. It doesn't look good. I understand Pedro's perspective, but there are ways to approach it. I was so impressed with him, and it was his idea; he wanted to apologise straight away. It's about learning from those mistakes to ensure they don't happen again.”
