PSL Confirms MTN8 Quarter-Finals: Pirates vs Durban City To Kick Off Weekend

MTN8 quarter-final fixtures confirmed: Pirates, Chiefs and Sundowns all feature. Pirates chase fifth straight title, Sundowns start season.

The Premier Soccer League has announced the 2026 MTN8 quarter-final fixtures set for this weekend. It all starts on Saturday when four-time defending champions Orlando Pirates take on Durban City at home in Soweto.

Pirates are chasing a record fifth title in a row in the top-eight tournament, and have won it five times in the last six editions.

They face Nedbank Cup winners Durban City, with the match scheduled for 15h00.

Later on Saturday night, Mamelodi Sundowns kick off their 2026/27 Premier Soccer League campaign at home to Polokwane City. The game is set for 18h00 at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Sundowns had their Betway Premiership match postponed over the weekend. The club only returned from a pre-season camp in Austria in recent days, after delaying preparations following the death of midfielder Jayden Adams.

Kaizer Chiefs get their bid for a first MTN8 title since 2014 underway on Sunday, hosting Lamontville Golden Arrows at FNB Stadium. Kick-off is 18h00.

There’s plenty of positivity around Naturena after Chiefs opened their league season with a 3-1 win over Kruger United on Saturday.

The final quarter-final sees AmaZulu take on Sekhukhune United at Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday at 15h00.
