The Chicago Bears have traded star wide receiver DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Moore, 28, had a successful stint in Chicago, posting a career-high 1,364 receiving yards in his first season with the team.

Moore was acquired by the Bears in a blockbuster trade with the Carolina Panthers in 2023, where he was part of the package that sent the No. 1 overall pick to the Panthers. He signed a four-year, $110 million extension with the Bears in 2024, with $82.6 million guaranteed.

The trade sends Moore to Buffalo, where he'll join quarterback Josh Allen and become the team's No. 1 wide receiver. The Bills gave up a 2026 second-round pick to acquire Moore and will also receive a 2026 fifth-round pick from the Bears.

D.J. Moore's time in Chicago is over, and it's been a tough season for the wide receiver. Moore's stats took a hit, with 50 catches for 682 yards and 6 touchdowns - his worst numbers in the NFL.

Moore's Bears tenure saw him rack up 3,012 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns on 361 receptions. He's best remembered for a walk-off TD catch vs. the Packers in Week 16, which won Moment of the Year at the 2025 NFL Awards.

D.J. Moore is joining the Buffalo Bills, teaming up with MVP quarterback Josh Allen and new head coach Joe Brady, who previously worked with Moore as the Carolina Panthers' offensive coordinator in 2020. That season, Moore had a career-high 1,193 receiving yards on 66 catches, averaging 18.1 yards per reception.

The Bills parted ways with former head coach Sean McDermott after a 12-5 season that ended with a heartbreaking 33-30 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round. This marked the team's fourth Divisional Round exit in five years.

The Buffalo Bills' wide receivers didn't have a standout season, with no one reaching 750 receiving yards. Khalil Shakir led the team with 719 yards, followed by tight ends Dalton Kincaid (571 yards) and Dawson Knox (417 yards). Other notable receivers include Kevon Coleman (404 yards) and Josh Palmer (303 yards).

Despite the lack of a dominant WR1, quarterback Josh Allen had an incredible season, throwing for 3,668 yards and 25 touchdowns, plus rushing for 579 yards and 14 touchdowns. This impressive performance earned him third place in the NFL MVP race, behind Drake Maye and Matthew Stafford.

Blockbuster Trades Continue in the NFL

The D.J. Moore trade to the Buffalo Bills was the second major deal in two days. Earlier, the Kansas City Chiefs sent cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for the 27th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, plus additional draft picks. This trade fills a key need for the Rams, adding an elite cornerback to their secondary.

Offseason Heating Up

The NFL offseason is gaining momentum, with the legal tampering period kicking off on Monday, March 9th, just before the new league year begins. This marks the start of free agency, and teams will be looking to make moves to strengthen their rosters.
