Transfer: Eintracht Frankfurt Signs Elye Wahi as Replacement for Omar Marmoush

Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt signs France U21 forward Elye Wahi from Marseille, bolstering their attacking lineup.

Eintracht Frankfurt have secured the signing of Marseille's France U21 forward Elye Wahi, the Bundesliga club announced on Friday. The 20-year-old joins Frankfurt on a deal that runs until 2030, serving as a replacement for departed forward Omar Marmoush.

Marmoush, 25, left Frankfurt for Premier League side Manchester City on Thursday in a reported £59 million deal. During his time with Frankfurt, he impressed with 15 goals and 10 assists in just 17 league games. His departure led to Frankfurt's swift move for Wahi.

Although the exact transfer fee was not disclosed by Frankfurt, German media outlets reported that Wahi's transfer cost the club around 20 million euros, potentially rising to 25 million euros with bonuses. Wahi has already made an impact this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist in 13 Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille.

Upon joining Frankfurt, Wahi expressed his enthusiasm for the new challenge, stating, “I wanted to take the chance and come here. I want to repay the trust that has been placed in me with good performances and goals.” Frankfurt's ability to attract and integrate new talent has been evident in recent seasons.

The club has consistently replaced departed forward talents with success. Notable examples include Randal Kolo Muani, Luka Jovic, Sebastien Haller, Jesper Lindstrom, and Andre Silva, all of whom left Frankfurt on big-money deals over the past five seasons. Frankfurt currently sits third in the league and will face Hoffenheim away on Sunday.
