Mirra Andreeva charged into her third straight French Open quarter-final on Sunday with a dominant win over Jil Teichmann. The 18-year-old Russian looked untroubled throughout the match.
Seeded 8th, Andreeva brushed aside the world No. 170 with ease. After trailing 3-2 in the first set, she shifted up a gear and closed it out 6-3, 6-2 to book her spot in the last eight.
“I still feel like I have a lot of experience to gain,” said the 19-year-old.
Andreeva is out for revenge after losing to French wildcard Lois Boisson in last year’s quarter-finals. Next up for her is Romanian veteran Sorana Cirstea on Tuesday, as she chases a second Roland Garros semi-final in three years.
