Canada blown out again as Norway rallies from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in OT. Noah Steen scores winner for Norway's first Ice Hockey World medal.
“An incredible and historic day - with a winning goal in sudden death…”
Norway pulled off a massive upset Sunday, beating Canada 3-2 in overtime to claim bronze at the IIHF World Championship. It’s Norway’s best finish ever at the tournament, and another shock exit for the Canadians.
Canada came into the bronze medal game as heavy favourites for their first podium since 2023. That was after last year’s quarterfinal exit to Denmark. But they trailed 2-0 before Robert Thomas scored twice late - the second with just eight seconds left - to force overtime.
