Marseille's dramatic comeback, Aubameyang's brace secures 3-2 win over Lyon...

Habib Beye got his first win as Marseille manager thanks to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's late brace, securing a 3-2 comeback win over Lyon in Ligue 1. Marseille had fallen behind but rallied to take the lead, only for Lyon to equalize before Aubameyang's heroics.

Lyon had been on a roll before their recent loss to Strasbourg, and they looked to be continuing their good form early on. However, Marseille's determination and Aubameyang's magic proved too much in the end.

Lyon struck early, taking the lead in just three minutes through Corentin Tolisso, who capitalized on Endrick's pass. Tolisso's third goal in three matches put Marseille on the back foot.

Marseille fought back, creating chances through Mason Greenwood, whose shots were foiled by Lyon goalkeeper Dominik Greif. Endrick also threatened, with a great solo run and a narrow miss.

Marseille goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli was solid in the first half, denying Roman Yaremchuk a goal when the Ukrainian striker had a great one-on-one chance. Despite plenty of action, the half remained open, setting the stage for a thrilling second half.

Habib Beye brought on Igor Paixao at halftime, and the Brazilian made an instant impact, scoring a stunning long-range goal, curling it into the top corner. Paixao's strike gave Marseille hope and shifted the momentum in their favor.

Armed with the momentum that goal created, Marseille went in pursuit of a quickfire second, as Greenwood and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang both missed the target when well-placed in the box.

Les Phocéens’ profligacy in front of goal proved to be costly in the 76th minute when substitute Remi Himbert tucked a brilliant low finish across Rulli and into the far corner to restore Lyon’s lead heading into the final quarter-hour.

Marseille's patience paid off, as Igor Paixao's cross was headed home by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, setting up a tense finale. The teams pushed hard for a winner, and Marseille got the breakthrough in stoppage time: Aubameyang tapped home from Ethan Nwaneri's pass, sparking wild celebrations.

Aubameyang's late double secured a thrilling 3-2 win for Marseille, marking Habib Beye's first victory as manager.

Comeback, fueled by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's late brace, left Lyon stunned and unable to respond. The hosts ended a four-game winless streak, moving within two points of Lyon in the table.
