Harriet Dart Regrets Comments About Lois Boisson's Hygiene

British tennis player Harriet Dart apologizes for saying opponent Lois Boisson 'smells really bad' during Rouen Open match. Dart lost the match 6-0, 6-3, and later took to social media to express regret for her comment.

British tennis player Harriet Dart has apologized for a comment made during her Rouen Open match against Lois Boisson. “Can you ask her to put on deodorant? She smells really bad,” Dart said to the umpire, according to the broadcast.

Dart addressed the controversy on Instagram, saying, “It was a comment made in the heat of the moment, and I truly regret it. It's not the way I want to behave, and I take full responsibility.” She added, “I have a lot of respect for Lois and the way she competed today. I'll learn from this and move on.” Dart lost the match 6-0, 6-3.

Lois Boisson seemed to be unaware of Harriet Dart's comment, as she was already on the court while Dart was still seated and appeared to be out of earshot. Boisson, ranked 303rd, pulled off a major upset against Dart, ranked 62nd, winning 6-0, 6-3. This marked Boisson's first WTA Tour appearance of the season after recovering from injury.

Dart struggled in the match, failing to convert any of her six break points and losing her serve four times. The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has been contacted for comment regarding the incident.
