Chwalinska pulls out of Tokyo Open after Wuhan triumph...
French Open runner-up Maja Chwalinska has pulled out of this week's Tokyo Open with a thigh injury picked up at the Wuhan Open, where she claimed her first WTA Tour title.
The Pole defeated compatriot Iga Swiatek in the Wuhan semi-finals earlier this month before beating Sonay Kartal in the final to lift the trophy.
“I travelled to Tokyo early for physiotherapy and on-court practice, doing everything possible to recover in time, but unfortunately, I am still not ready to compete,” Chwalinska posted on Instagram on Monday.
