Coventry City suffered a fourth home defeat in five as Oscar Bobb's first Premier League goal for Fulham sealed a 1-0 win for the Cottagers, who move up to 12th.
Bobb brilliance seals vital win as Fulham edge Coventry...
Oscar Bobb's stunning late solo goal proved decisive as Fulham ended their eight-game winless run on the road in the Premier League with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Coventry City, who have now lost four of their five home games this season.
Lifted by securing their first Premier League win of the season last time out, Fulham made a bright start in what was their third straight game against newly-promoted opposition.
Shea Charles forced an early but comfortable save from Coventry goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, moments before Josh King created space for himself to unleash a fierce drive that rattled the woodwork.
The visitors' early impetus quickly faded, however, as the first half descended into a cagey, scrappy battle that mirrored the miserable conditions at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Unable to find a breakthrough before the interval, Fulham went down the tunnel in familiar territory, having now gone four consecutive goalless first halves away from home in the Premier League.
The half-time break did little to alter the attritional nature of the contest, so it was hardly surprising to see Frank Lampard turn to his bench with a triple substitution midway through the second half in search of a spark in the final third.
Not to be outdone, Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa replied with two attacking changes of his own.

Yet it was one of his starters, Bobb, who ultimately provided the moment of magic, breaking the deadlock in the 80th minute.
Picking up the ball on the right flank, the tricky winger cut inside the box before bamboozling Jack Rudoni with a superb piece of skill to create the angle for a low, driven finish past Rushworth.
The Sky Blues had no answer to Bobb's first Premier League goal in Fulham colours, slipping to a narrow defeat that leaves them 19th in the table.
