16-Year-Old Kristina Liutova wins Memphis title in WTA debut...

16-year-old Russian Kristina Liutova captured the WTA Memphis title on Sunday in her very first main-draw event. She rallied past Darja Vidmanova 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 to win the championship.

With the win, Liutova became the youngest WTA title winner since Coco Gauff, who was 15 when she won in Linz back in 2019.

She clinched it with a sharp forehand winner into the corner on her fourth match point, then fell to her knees. After that she sprinted to the stands and shared an emotional hug with her mom through tears.

After getting past some early jitters, she rolled through the second set. In the third she jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but Vidmanova stopped the run to hold for 4-1 and then broke back to make it 4-2.

Liutova answered right away with a break back, yet couldn’t close it out, she missed three match points on her own serve. She finally wrapped up the title with one more break of the Czech to finish it off.

Liutova’s path to the 250-level trophy included upsets of top seed Ekaterina Alexandrova and No.6 seed Caty McNally.

The world No.229 fought her way in through qualifying to earn a place in the main draw.

She began 2026 at No.714 in the rankings. After Memphis, she’s set to jump to a projected No.126.

For Vidmanova, it’s still no title. The 23-year-old Czech, ranked No.114, is still chasing her first WTA crown.
