Serie A: Vlahovic Free-Kick Rescues Juventus in Draw with Relegated Verona
Lorenzo Montipo made key saves late to hold Juventus, who stay 4th but face pressure from Como and Roma.
Vlahovic free-kick salvages point but Juve drop Champions League ground...
Juventus dropped points in the fight for a top-four finish after a 1-1 draw with relegated Hellas Verona in Turin. It’s the first time they’ve failed to beat Verona at home since October 2020.
Verona’s relegation was confirmed before kickoff, with Lecce’s 2-1 win over Pisa on Friday sealing their drop to Serie B.

With nothing left to play for, Verona turned up at the Allianz Stadium while Juventus needed three points to strengthen their Champions League push.
Juventus controlled possession early and carved out two good chances in the first 30 minutes. Francisco Conceicao forced Lorenzo Montipò into a low save to his left, and Gleison Bremer headed against the woodwork.
It felt like only a matter of time before Juve scored, but the opener came against the run of play and stunned the home crowd.
Bremer gave the ball away cheaply, letting Domagoj Bradarić whip in a low cross that Kieron Bowie turned in at the near post with Verona’s first shot on target.
Juventus went into half-time without an equalizer, so Luciano Spalletti brought Dusan Vlahovic off the bench to spark a comeback.
Vlahovic made the difference just after the hour, bending a free-kick around the wall and beyond Montipo’s reach for his first Serie A goal since October.
With Juventus pushing, Conceicao nearly put them ahead midway through the second half, forcing two point-blank saves from Montipo in quick succession.
