Ousmane Dembele’s early goal helped PSG withstand Bayern pressure, as Luis Enrique prepares for a third UCL final as a coach.
Harry Kane’s late strike proved only a consolation for Bayern, who suffered a sixth consecutive two-legged semi-final exit in Europe...
PSG secured their place in a third Champions League final, the most by any French club, after a 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich in the second leg gave them a 6-5 aggregate victory.
Ahead of the latest meeting between the two European giants, Luis Enrique likened their rivalry to that of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, saying the two legends consistently pushed each other to greater heights.

Borrowing from tennis, PSG came to Munich already a set up and asserted their dominance right away with a goal just three minutes in.
The move was clinical in its simplicity. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia latched onto Fabian Ruiz’s incisive pass that cut through Bayern’s defense and laid it off for Ousmane Dembélé, who struck a first-time shot straight into the top corner.
Bayern’s wide players tried to take control early as they chased down a two-goal aggregate gap, but both Luis Diaz and Michael Olise sent their efforts over the crossbar.
Vincent Kompany’s team began testing PSG’s backline, and the Belgian manager was furious on the sidelines when a handball appeal was waved away after Vitinha’s clearance struck Joao Neves’ arm inside the area.

Joao Neves quickly compounded Bayern’s frustration moments later, heading Vitinha’s deep free-kick toward the far post only for Manuel Neuer to react with a strong save.
At the other end, Matvey Safonov matched him before the interval, diving to tip away Jamal Musiala’s low strike in what had been an engrossing first half.
After the restart, PSG held their defensive structure well, keeping Bayern at arm’s length rather than allowing them to mount sustained pressure.
PSG still posed a serious counter-attacking threat throughout, and it was Neuer who was called into action more often, pulling off key stops to deny both Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue.
This wasn’t the free-flowing PSG of earlier rounds, but Luis Enrique’s side displayed a disciplined defensive resilience against Bayern’s typically potent attack, and it proved enough to book their place in another Champions League final with relative control.
Harry Kane did have the final say for the hosts, hammering a left-footed shot past Matvey Safonov for his 14th Champions League goal of the campaign, though it ended up as nothing more than a late consolation.
PSG now face a winner-takes-all showdown with Arsenal in Budapest, as Luis Enrique prepares for his third Champions League final as a manager following triumphs with PSG last year and Barcelona in 2015.

For Bayern, the dream of a 12th European Cup final is over. The defeat marked their sixth straight semi-final exit in the competition over two legs, and only their second loss in 30 Champions League matches at home.
