Fiorentina and Atalanta drew 1-1 in an entertaining season finale at the Artemio Franchi. Roberto Piccoli opened the scoring in the first half, but a Pietro Comuzzo own goal 10 minutes from time ensured both teams took a point.
Fiorentina went ahead in the 39th minute. Marco Brescianini played a precise cutback along the goal line to find Piccoli unmarked, and the striker finished to put the Viola in front.
The second half opened up, with both sides creating chances as the momentum shifted. Atalanta were denied several times by Christensen, including a 77th-minute one-on-one save against Sulemana.
Atalanta equalized in the 82nd minute through an unlikely source. Comuzzo tried to intercept but turned the ball into his own net to make it 1-1.
Late changes from both benches did not change the result. The match ended in a draw to close out the Serie A season for both clubs.
The draw moved Fiorentina up to 14th place. Genoa and Cagliari could still overtake them if they win their final games.
