Mika Godts scored in the 92nd minute to give Ajax a 1-1 point against PSV on Saturday, keeping their Champions League qualification hopes alive.
PSV came to Amsterdam as newly crowned champions, while Ajax were fighting to hold onto second place and the automatic Champions League spot that comes with it. For the hosts, Kasper Dolberg started up front in place of Wout Weghorst, with a more defensive midfield trio of Ko Itakura, Youri Regeer, and Jorthy Mokio behind him.
PSV received a guard of honour from Ajax before kick-off, having spent a few days in Ibiza earlier in the week. The celebrations barely paused when Ricardo Pepi opened the scoring after 33 seconds, heading in at the far post after Yarek Gasiorowski flicked on Kiliann Sildillia’s long throw.
Couhaib Driouech had a golden chance to make it 2-0 inside 10 minutes, but he failed to generate enough power and the ball trickled wide of an open goal.
The frantic start continued when Anton Gaaei levelled for Ajax in the 13th minute. The right-back struck from outside the box following a corner routine, sending it into Matej Kovar’s far corner.
Ajax dominated the rest of the half, creating chances for Kasper Dolberg and Jorthy Mokio. Mokio came closest, rolling a shot just wide of Matej Kovar’s goal in the 44th minute.
The opening 15 minutes of the second half were scrappy, with only Steven Berghuis forcing a chance as he curled an effort over Kovar’s bar.
The game lost its spark and went nearly an hour without a shot on target. That changed in the 77th minute when substitute Myron Boadu poked PSV back in front after a tangle with Ko Itakura left both players on the deck.

It looked like another frustrating second half for Ajax until Mika Godts volleyed in a rebound in the 92nd minute. Anton Gaaei had tested Kovar moments earlier, and Godts made no mistake to net his 17th goal of the season and snatch a point for the hosts.
Ajax held PSV to a draw for the second time this season. The result keeps them in the race for Champions League qualification, but they’ll need results to go their way over the final two rounds with Feyenoord three points clear.
