FC Copenhagen continued their revival under Bo Svensson on Wednesday, sealing a fourth straight win to close in on seventh place in the league and a spot in European competition. FCK 2-1 OB: Fourth Win on the Spin for Svensson

The hosts played with the swagger of a side on a three-game winning streak. They nearly went ahead after 10 minutes when Icelandic youngster Viktor Dadason went one-on-one with Viljar Myhra, but the Norwegian keeper smothered his tame effort.

Eight minutes later, though, FC Copenhagen got the lead their dominance deserved. Mads Emil Madsen curled a brilliant finish into the net from the edge of the box.

The hosts nearly doubled their lead after 24 minutes when Swedish striker Jordan Larsson struck the post. Larsson was more clinical three minutes before the break, racing onto a long ball and squeezing a shot across goal despite heavy pressure from an OB defender.

In the second half, the visitors grew into the game as FC Copenhagen couldn’t maintain their first-half dominance. OB reignited the contest when Marcus McCoy weaved down the left and teed up William Martin, who slotted home to cut the deficit.

OB pushed for an equalizer, but FC Copenhagen held on to secure their fourth win in a row.

Vejle 1-2 Silkeborg: Late Penalty Sends Hosts Down

Vejle desperately needed a home win over Silkeborg to keep their Superliga survival hopes alive. Neither side found rhythm in the first half, with a poor pitch partly to blame for the lack of clear chances.

The second half started much like the first, with both teams sloppy in possession. Still, the visitors broke through with 20 minutes left when Callum McCowatt drove through midfield and rifled a shot from the edge of the box past Vejle keeper Igor Vekic.

Wahid Faghir leveled just three minutes later, rising highest to head in Christian Sorensen’s cross. Vejle pushed for a winner but were caught out in the final minute when Lasse Nielsen picked up a second yellow for stepping on McCowatt in the box. Tonni Adamsen buried the penalty to send Vejle down.
