Stockholm Derby Honours Even as Hammarby Fight Back to Hold Djurgarden
30th draw in history keeps Hammarby three wins clear of Djurgarden in 08 Derby record. Besara strike answers Lien opener at 3Arena.
Nahir Besara’s outside-boot finish seals draw for Hammarby at Djurgarden. Pyro delay, late chances, but no winner in capital clash...
The 139th Stockholm Derby at the 3Arena ended all square, with Djurgarden and Hammarby drawing 1-1 to leave both sides on two wins from their first five Allsvenskan games.
Despite the familiar setting, the away side had won just once in the last 11 meetings - a worrying stat for Hammarby, who arrived off the back of a disappointing home draw with Halmstad and failed to build on their 8-1 rout of Orgryte.

The signs looked better for a Djurgarden side aiming to end a two-game losing streak. With both teams emerging to a raucous atmosphere, Blaranderna started brightly, as Bo Hegland linked up with Patric Aslund before poking an effort straight at Warner Hahn.
Djurgarden kept up the early pressure and got a deserved opener in the ninth minute. Hegland won the ball in Hammarby’s half, skipped past a challenge and slipped it to Hampus Findell, whose clever backheel teed up Kristian Lien to slot low past Hahn for his third goal of the season.
Hammarby’s initial response to falling behind was muted. Striker Paulos Abraham started despite a recurring injury issue, and his lack of sharpness showed when he fired wayward from a promising position.
The hosts were content to sit deep and hit Hammarby on the break. That nearly paid off midway through the first half when a free Patric Aslund cut in from the right and forced Hahn into a smart stop with his foot.
That sparked Bajen’s best spell of the half. Nahir Besara went close with two efforts from range, and after slick interplay between Abraham and Montader Madjed, Oscar Johansson’s 20-yard placed strike forced Jacob Rinne into a save.
The green and whites came closest in the 32nd minute when Victor Lind latched onto a ball over the top and struck the near post. Abraham was central to the action in the final 10 minutes of the half, but for Hammarby it only drew the ire of Djurgarden players and fans, clashing off the ball with Matias Siltanen before colliding with Rinne as both challenged for a cross.

The second half had barely started when the players were taken off after Djurgarden fans set off pyrotechnics. Once play resumed, Hammarby created the first real chance, with Madjed cutting the ball back for Besara to strike from the edge of the box, but his effort through traffic was gathered by Rinne.
Neither side managed to take control after that, but as the hour mark neared, Kalle Karlsson’s men began to threaten more. Only a crucial Miro Tenho block denied Abraham inside the area, before Bajen found the equaliser in the 61st minute.
Besara took charge in a central area and split the Djurgarden defence with a one-two with Johansson, before poking the ball past Rinne with the outside of his boot.
Jani Honkavaara reacted to conceding with a double change, but the approach to find Lien stayed the same. He cut in from the left and saw his shot deflect wide. At the other end, Abraham spread the play well to Madjed on the wing, but his first-time effort flew over.

In the final 10 minutes, a confident Besara tried his luck from 35 yards and sent it just over. Djurgarden then breathed a sigh of relief as the offside flag went up against Abraham when the ball dropped to him in the box.
Despite facing growing pressure, the Iron Stoves nearly snatched it late. Adam Stahl failed to make clean contact with a header from a cross as it drifted wide, before Leon Hien swept a counter-attack effort past the post in added time.
No late winner arrived, meaning Djurgarden ended their two-game losing streak while Hammarby were held to a second straight draw. The 30th draw in the fixture’s history keeps Hammarby three wins ahead of Djurgarden in the overall 08 Derby record.
