Lyon snapped a nine-game winless streak with a 2-0 win over Lorient at the Groupama Stadium. They've been on a bit of a rollercoaster - were looking like Champions League contenders, but their form dipped and they're now 7th.
Endrick impressed as Lyon got the win against a tough Lorient side, who'd only lost two of their previous 17 league games.
All in all, the first half was a tense affair, with neither side exerting any sustained pressure on the opposing goal.
The hosts had the first chance, as Roman Yaremchuk headed over the crossbar, before Afonso Moreira drew an easy save from Yvon Mvogo.

Lorient grew into the game, and Les Merlus had a great chance just before half-time. Dominik Greif made a fantastic save to deny Jean-Victor Makengo, and then denied Bamba Dieng from close range after he was found unmarked by Noah Cadiou's cross. Greif was on fire, also saving Arthur Avom's rebound effort.
Lyon head coach Paulo Fonseca made three changes at half-time, bringing on Orel Mangala, Endrick, and Corentin Tolisso. It paid off quickly - within three minutes of the restart, Lyon took the lead through Yaremchuk's first Ligue 1 goal, heading Endrick's cross into the bottom corner.
Endrick was involved in the second goal too, driving into the box and forcing a save from Mvogo, before the ball fell for Tolisso to nod into the net.

Lorient pushed for an equaliser, with Dieng firing wide when one-on-one with Greif. They thought they'd won a penalty, but VAR ruled it out - Moreira fouled Dieng, but was also fouled by Panos Katseris first.
Avom went close again, with Greif tipping his drive behind for a corner. Lorient couldn't find a way back into the game, though.

Lyon held on for the win, moving back within two points of Lille in third with five games left. They're pushing for a Champions League spot, their first since 2019/20 when they reached the semis.
Lorient's chances of securing a European spot next term are effectively over. Even a win might not have been enough, but this loss puts them out of contention.
