Olympique Lyonnais fails to win in nine games, dropping out of Champions League positions after a goalless draw at Angers SCO in Ligue 1.
Angers denies Lyon win, Lyon slip out of top 4...
Lyon's poor form continues, with a 0-0 draw at Angers leaving them winless in nine games across all competitions (four draws, five losses). They've now failed to win in Ligue 1 for five games.
The first half was largely uneventful, with few scoring opportunities created by either side. Lyon had hoped to extend their winning streak against Angers to seven games, but it wasn't their day.
Afonso Moreira had an early chance, but his shot was blocked. The first real test came from Ainsley Maitland-Niles, whose effort was comfortably saved by Hervé Koffi.
Lyon struggled to create much in attack, scoring just twice in their last six games. A Jordan Lefort header from a corner was their best chance, but it sailed over the bar. The first half was low on excitement.
Les Gones started the second half brightly, especially when Corentin Tolisso was afforded space at the top of the box to have a go. Unfortunately for the Lyon captain, Koffi was behind it all the way, getting two fists on the ball to make the stop.
Pavel Sulc’s attempt moments later from close range flashed wide as the visitors could not do enough to take the lead.

Afonso Moreira, one of Lyon's most lively players, cut in from the left wing and shot, but it flew into the stands. As the game wore on, both teams made substitutions, but no one could change the outcome.
The match ended 0-0, with neither side able to find a breakthrough.
Angers stays 12th in the standings, with 16 home goals conceded (fifth-fewest in the league). Lyon's poor run continues, with their last win in mid-February. They're now out of Champions League spots.
