Feyenoord general director Dennis te Kloese will leave the Rotterdam club after the 2025-26 season.

Te Kloese arrived at Feyenoord in 2022, having previously worked with LA Galaxy, the Mexican Football Federation, Chivas Guadalajara, Tigres, and Chivas USA.

Under Te Kloese, Feyenoord lifted the Eredivisie in 2022-23, the KNVB Beker in 2023-24, and the Johan Cruyff Shield in 2024-25.

A club statement credited Te Kloese for strong financial growth, noting equity rose from €1 million in 2022 to €37 million in the latest reports. Feyenoord also posted record revenue of €160 million in 2024-25.

The 52-year-old former scout plans to finish the season with Feyenoord to ensure he departs on a high. “But I can already say that it has truly been a privilege to lead Feyenoord. Of course, not everything has gone perfectly, but together with all colleagues within the club, we have made great strides,” he said in a club statement.

Feyenoord have had a turbulent season under Robin van Persie, but sit second with four games left - a spot that secures direct entry to next season’s UEFA Champions League League Phase.

Still, Te Kloese has faced recent criticism from Feyenoord fans. During the Eredivisie match against FC Utrecht, away supporters filled their section with signs demanding both Te Kloese and Van Persie step down.

“The foundation that is now in place is strong,” Te Kloese added. “I hope the club and its supporters can continue to build on this, including by finally becoming one with the stadium in the near future after decades of complications.”

Speculation about Te Kloese joining Mexican club Monterrey predates the announcement. The veteran executive is expected to become Monterrey’s sporting director, with a move to his wife’s home country proving too appealing to pass up.

“What and where the future will bring for me and my family remains to be seen, but regardless, I will always look back on this period with pride, and I wish Feyenoord and all Feyenoorders every success,” Te Kloese concluded.
