Sporting CP pulled off an incredible comeback, beating Bodo/Glimt 5-0 after extra time to secure a 5-3 aggregate win and book their spot in the Champions League quarter-finals. This is their first time overturning a three-goal deficit in a UEFA competition since 1963/64.

The match got off to a frantic start, with Maximiliano Araujo's early cross almost finding Francisco Trincao, who headed just over. Sporting's relentless pressure paid off in the 34th minute when Goncalo Inacio headed in Trincao's corner. They continued to dominate, with Pedro Goncalves scoring in the 61st minute and Luis Suarez converting a penalty in the 78th minute. Extra time saw Maxi Araujo score in the 92nd minute, and Rafael Nel added a fifth in stoppage time.

The pressure was on, and Sporting kept pushing. Trincao had another chance moments later, but his lob went wide, leaving Nikita Haikin stranded. The Norwegians were struggling to cope with Sporting's relentless attack.

Glimt's rare breaks left Sporting exposed, but they were too busy pushing for a goal to worry. Their aggressive approach was paying off, and it was only a matter of time before they scored again.

Bodo/Glimt had their chance early on, but Kasper Hogh's finish fell short, and it ended up costing them. Sporting CP capitalized on the miss, with Goncalo Inacio heading in a corner just before half-time to level the aggregate score.

Hogh's wastefulness came back to haunt Bodo/Glimt, as Sporting's relentless pressure paid off. Are they set to make it to the quarters?

Goncalo Inacio's goal was almost cancelled out by Odin Bjortuft's header, which hit the crossbar twice in crazy fashion. Sporting kept pushing, but Sondre Brunstad Fet's strike was the real threat, forcing Rui Silva to make a save.

The tension was building, and Sporting's pressure was getting results.

Pedro Goncalves' 61st-minute goal cut the aggregate deficit to one, and the game was back on. Bodo/Glimt's defense was crumbling, and Sporting CP smelled blood.

Glimt's desperation grew as they struggled to contain Sporting's attacks.

Sporting CP's momentum shifted dramatically with a VAR intervention, awarding a penalty after Fredrik Andre Bjorkan was deemed to have handled the ball. Luis Suarez converted the spot kick, leveling the aggregate score. The Portuguese side continued to push, with Nuno Santos' shot hitting the post, setting the stage for extra time.

Araujo settled the tie in extra time, catching Haikin off guard at the near post to seal the incredible comeback. The goal was the final nail in Bodo/Glimt's coffin.

Substitute Rafael Nel put the result beyond doubt, scoring a fifth goal in added time. Sporting CP's remarkable turnaround was complete – a 5-0 win after being 3-0 down.

Bodo/Glimt's dreams of becoming the first Norwegian team to reach the UCL quarter-finals in 29 years were dashed, while Rui Borges' Sporting CP pulled off a historic comeback, becoming only the fifth team in Champions League history to overturn a three-goal deficit. This remarkable feat was last achieved by Liverpool in 2019 against Barcelona.

Sporting CP's incredible 5-0 win over Bodo/Glimt in extra time secured their spot in the quarter-finals, with goals from G. Inácio, P. Gonçalves, L. Suárez, M. Araújo, and R. Nel. This stunning comeback will be remembered as one of the greatest in Champions League history.
