Bodo/Glimt Vs Sporting CP
Glimt cruises to 3-0 win over Sporting in Champions League

Bodo/Glimt beat Sporting CP 3-0 in the UEFA Champions League last 16 first leg, with goals from Sondre Brunstad Fet, Ole Didrik Blomberg, and Kasper Hogh.

Glimt takes a commanding lead to Lisbon after a 3-0 win over Sporting CP, with the Norwegians looking to make history...

Bodo/Glimt are on fire, securing a 3-0 win over Sporting CP in the Champions League last-16 first leg at Aspmyra Stadion. This Norwegian team is making history with their fifth consecutive victory in the competition.

The match saw Sondre Brunstad Fet score a penalty in the 32nd minute, followed by Ole Didrik Blomberg's stunning finish in first-half stoppage time. Kasper Hogh sealed the deal with his fifth Champions League goal in as many games, stealing between defenders to score in the 71st minute.

Bodo/Glimt's fairy tale run continues, having knocked out Inter Milan in the knockout play-off round and now facing Sporting CP. The second leg takes place in Lisbon next Tuesday, and Sporting will need a miracle to turn this around.

Glimt took control of the game after an early chance for Luis Suarez. Jens Petter Hauge had a great opportunity, flashing an effort wide at the near post.

Håkon Evjen was played through one-on-one with Rui Silva, but the Bodø/Glimt winger could only fire straight at the Portuguese goalkeeper, who made an easy save.

Bodø/Glimt looked more likely to score, and they did in the 32nd minute. Georgios Vagiannidis fouled Sondre Brunstad Fet in the box, and Fet calmly scored the penalty, sending Rui Silva the wrong way.

Ole Didrik Blomberg sealed a great first half for Glimt, scoring with a clinical right-footed finish to make it 2-0. Kjetil Knutsen's side were impressive, and Sporting CP are in trouble.

Sporting CP came out strong after halftime, looking to turn the game around. They had a great chance to pull one back when Luis Guilherme's corner was flicked on, but Luis Suarez was just inches away from connecting with the ball.

Glimt killed off Sporting's hopes when Kasper Hogh scored the third goal, getting in between two defenders to turn home Jens Petter Hauge's cross. The Norwegian side were too strong, and the deficit is looking insurmountable for the Leoes.

Jens Petter Hauge had a late chance to add to Glimt's lead, but his long-range shot sailed just wide of the post. It was a great night for the Norwegian side, who are now on the brinks of history.

A win in Lisbon next week would send them to the quarter-finals, making them only the second Norwegian team to achieve this feat since Rosenborg in 1996/97.

Sporting CP's chances of progressing are slim, and their away form isn't helping. They haven't won an away game at this stage or later in a continental competition since 2005.
