Hellas Verona stuns Bologna with comeback win, ends winless drought...

Bologna's winning streak at home was shattered by relegation-battling Verona, who snatched a thrilling 2-1 win. The visitors ended a 12-game winless run in Serie A with two second-half goals.

Verona's turnaround was stunning, given Bologna's red-hot form – five wins on the trot heading into this match.

The visitors had the early chances, with Orban and Akpa Akpro's shots blocked, and Bowie's effort flying wide.

Bologna took time to settle, but once they got possession around the half-hour mark, they still struggled to create clear chances – failing to register a shot on target in the first 45 minutes.

The goalless half means Bologna's league-high record of half-time draws continues, now at 18 games.

The Rossoblù came out firing for the second half, clearly fired up by Vincenzo Italiano’s team-talk. In fact, they hit the woodwork within two minutes of the restart as Riccardo Orsolini struck the post with a volley from just inside the box.

Ultimately, though, they broke the deadlock before the 50-minute mark, when a period of sustained pressure paid dividends.

Nadir Zortea's low cross was the perfect setup for Jonathan Rowe, who tucked it home with a neat side-footed finish – his first league goal of the season.

Verona refused to back down, hitting back just four minutes later with emphatic style.

A half-clearance in the Bologna box let Martin Frese fire a thunderous shot into the bottom corner. Verona's momentum shifted after the equalizer.

The Gialloblù took the lead less than five minutes later, capitalizing on their newfound momentum.

Verona's turnaround was swift – just 15 seconds passed from Montipo's kick-out to Bowie's finish. Orban's clever layoff set it up, and Bowie didn't miss from close range.

Italiano's team pushed hard for the equalizer, but time was running out, and they were left exposed. Orban sparked a counter, finding Sarr who calmly slotted it home – but VAR intervened, ruling it out for a foul in the build-up, sparking fury on the bench.

Despite their frustration, Verona managed to hang on in the final minutes to claim just their third win of the league campaign. Bologna, meanwhile, lose ground in their pursuit of European football, with the gap to Juventus in sixth place now standing at 11 points.
