Jon Rahm is feeling “very relieved” after finally bagging a win at the LIV Golf Hong Kong event, scoring a slick 64 in the final round to edge out the competition by three shots.

The 31-year-old Spaniard's drought is over, ending a streak of four runner-up finishes on the Saudi-backed circuit with this impressive victory.

Jon Rahm is on cloud nine after his win, saying “Very relieved, just happy I could enjoy the walk down the 18th.” The two-time major champ finished on 23-under, three shots ahead of Thomas Detry.

Rahm's final round was a treat, with eight birdies and just two bogeys at Fanling. “I played really good all day,” he said.

Rahm, who celebrated his third LIV win, added: “Even though I shot six-under, what could have been with quite a few short putts missed and an errant shot on 18.”

“It was incredible. But I just tried to stay very patient and committed to each shot, knowing that I was doing everything right and things were going to happen.

“I think that was the theme pretty much every round this week.”

Thomas Detry's participation in Hong Kong was made possible by Rahm's gesture – he chartered a private jet to fly Detry and other LIV players from the Middle East.
