Kylian Mbappe's absence doesn't stop Real Madrid's dominant win over City, putting pressure on Pep Guardiola's side...

Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa is optimistic about Kylian Mbappe's availability for the crucial Champions League clash against Manchester City. “He's getting better day by day,” Arbeloa said, expressing his confidence in Mbappe's recovery. Mbappe is currently sidelined, but Arbeloa believes he'll be fit for the trip to Manchester.

Arbeloa provided an update on Mbappe's progress, saying, “He won't be there tomorrow (Saturday, in La Liga against Elche), but I'm confident he'll be on the trip to Manchester.” This suggests Mbappe is on track to return to action for the Champions League showdown with City.

Real Madrid secured a commanding 3-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League last-16 first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Federico Valverde scoring a stunning hat-trick. Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, and several other key players were missing for Real Madrid, but Valverde's exceptional performance made up for it.

The Uruguayan midfielder opened the scoring in the 20th minute, rounding Gianluigi Donnarumma with ease, and added two more goals before halftime, leaving City with a daunting task for the second leg. City will host Real Madrid next Tuesday, and Pep Guardiola's side risks being knocked out of Europe for the third consecutive season.

Kylian Mbappe, the French forward, has been sidelined with a left knee sprain since late December and hasn't played since missing the Benfica match on February 25th. Despite this, he's had an incredible season, scoring 38 goals in just 33 appearances for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa is optimistic about Mbappe's return, stating he's “getting better day by day” and expects him to be fit for the Champions League second leg against Manchester City. Mbappe's absence was felt in the first leg, which Real Madrid won 3-0, thanks to Federico Valverde's hat-trick.

Kylian Mbappe is expected to return to Real Madrid's lineup ahead of the international break. France will be in action during this period, facing Brazil and Colombia in pre-World Cup friendlies in the United States, making his recovery a boost for both club and country. “He's getting better day by day,” Alvaro Arbeloa said, reiterating his confidence in Mbappe's availability for the Manchester City clash.
