Everton manager David Moyes is coming to the defense of his former player and current Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, saying Arsenal's physical approach and set-piece prowess are nothing to complain about. Moyes thinks it's great that Arsenal is doing something different, and that it's part of the game.

Moyes described Arteta as a “brilliant manager” who's done an incredible job at Arsenal, keeping them in the hunt for multiple titles, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup. He also pointed out that if everyone played the same way, football would be boring.

Arteta has remained defiant about Arsenal's set-piece tactics, dismissing accusations of time-wasting from Brighton & Hove Albion boss Fabian Huerzeler. Moyes agrees, saying Arsenal's approach is giving people something to talk about, and that's a good thing.

Everton manager David Moyes has come to the defense of Arsenal's Mikel Arteta, describing him as a "brilliant manager" who's doing an incredible job leading the team on all four fronts: Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup. Moyes, who previously managed Arteta at Everton, praised Arteta's work ethic and passion for the game, saying he's one of the best managers in the world.

Arsenal is currently seven points clear of second-placed Manchester City, who have a game in hand, and will face Pep Guardiola's side in the League Cup final at Wembley on March 22.

“You are making it sound as if that's a problem because they are good at set ‌pieces and they are a strong, physical side,” Moyes told reporters ahead of Saturday's trip to Arsenal.

“I don't see any problem with any of that. It's part of the game.”

David Moyes thinks critics are missing the point by complaining about Arsenal's playing style. “If everyone played the same way, it'd be boring,” he said, emphasizing the importance of tactical diversity in the Premier League. Moyes believes it's great that teams are finding different ways to succeed, and Arsenal's set-piece focus is just one example of this.

Moyes' comments come after Arsenal faced criticism for their physical approach and reliance on set-pieces. He thinks it's unfair to single out Arsenal, saying it's part of the game and teams should be praised for adapting and finding ways to win.

“If there's this thing out there where everybody has to play the beautiful game and everything has to be perfect, well if we all do that then it would be boring. Football would be boring,” he added.

“Part of the reason you people are talking about it is because it might be slightly different from what we have seen for a few years.

“It's giving you something to talk ‌about, but I would hate to be going to football matches all the time and seeing football only played the one way. I want teams to play different styles and in different ways.”

Mikel Arteta is standing firm despite criticism of Arsenal's set-piece tactics. He's dismissed accusations of time-wasting from Brighton boss Fabian Huerzeler, who complained about Arsenal's approach after their 1-0 win at Brighton earlier this month. Interestingly, Huerzeler also praised Arteta for his achievements this season, showing respect for the Arsenal manager's work.

Arteta's confidence isn't surprising, given Arsenal's current form. They're seven points clear of second-placed Manchester City, who have a game in hand, and are competing on multiple fronts, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup. Arteta's focus is on maintaining their momentum and improving as a team.

“I said to Mikel afterwards and during the week that I admire his ‌work. I didn't want to create that noise, I just wanted to make my point about how I was feeling. Nothing to do with what ‌they have achieved, it's incredible,” he said.

“Arteta is one of the best managers in the world for me, he is a role model. But it is important to say your opinion and not hide your opinion even when you are a smaller club.

“I texted him saying the same things to him, that I have huge respect for everyone at Arsenal. If they ‌win the Premier League, they definitely deserve it.”
