Frosinone beat Juve Stabia 1-0 to move second on 78 points, three ahead of Monza, and need one point to join Venezia in Serie A...

Venezia secured promotion back to Serie A after drawing 2-2 away to La Spezia on Friday in the second-to-last round of Serie B fixtures.

The Venetians let a two-goal advantage slip in the closing minutes on the Ligurian coast, leaving them believing they’d have to wait another week to confirm their return to the top flight.

Mantova’s 96th-minute winner to defeat third-placed Monza 3-2 changed that, clinching promotion for Venezia before the final matchday.

On 79 points, the Lagunari are certain to finish in the top two, earning automatic promotion to Serie A.

Owned by American investors since, Venezia will enter their 15th Serie A campaign in August. The club will look to avoid an immediate drop back to Serie B, a pattern that followed each of their last three promotions.

Frosinone could join them automatically after moving into second on 78 points on Friday, overtaking Monza.

A 1-0 win at Juve Stabia put Frosinone three points ahead of Monza, and one more point would secure their fourth season in the top flight.

The final promotion spot will go to the winner of play-offs involving the teams placed third to eighth in the regular season.
