Rosenior defends Chelsea's ritual, plans to discuss refereeing with PGMOL...
Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior says their pre-match huddle isn't meant to antagonize opponents, calling it a way for players to show unity. The controversy started when referee Paul Tierney got caught in the middle of their huddle before a match against Newcastle, and now they're facing Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
Rosenior's team is deciding whether to continue the ritual, which some think is disrespectful to opponents. He plans to discuss the issue with the referees' organization PGMOL, focusing on decisions that went against Chelsea. Reece James, their captain, is out with a hamstring injury, and Malo Gusto might also miss the match due to illness.
The Chelsea fans are going wild over their pre-match ritual, but some are calling it disrespectful. Pundits think the move to hold it on the pitch is a bit much, but Rosenior insists it's not meant to intimidate opponents.
When asked about continuing the tradition in the Champions League, Rosenior was tight-lipped, leaving everyone guessing what Chelsea's plan is for the PSG clash.
“I think it's been blown out of proportion. It's a small thing among many serious things that we need to address, such as the massive game against PSG,” Rosenior told reporters on Monday.
“The lads have always wanted to show unity and togetherness, think they'll continue to do that. But what we don't want is to antagonise and bring more noise on ourselves.
“We'll make the decision on where we do that on the pitch tomorrow.”
Rosenior's taking it up with PGMOL, planning a meeting this week to discuss dodgy decisions that have hurt Chelsea. Sounds like they're not holding back.
Chelsea's hopes of a Champions League comeback just got a lot tougher. Reece James, their captain and star right-back, is out for several weeks with a hamstring injury he picked up during the Newcastle match. This is a major blow, especially after he just signed a new six-year contract with the club.

Malo Gusto, Chelsea's other right-back option, is also a doubt for Tuesday's game due to illness, adding to the Blues' woes. With a 5-2 deficit to overturn against PSG, they'll need all hands on deck.
“Reece felt something in his hamstring at the end of the game against Newcastle,” said Rosenior.
“It could be (weeks) with a hamstring injury; it's never great. Hopefully, we can get him scanned, find out the full extent, (and) then we'll know more.
XWe know what an important leader he is in the group. He's our captain.”
