Sinner's meticulous planning and acclimatization pay off in Indian Wells triumph...

Jannik Sinner's Indian Wells title win was no fluke - it was the result of meticulous planning and preparation. The Italian tennis star arrived a week early to acclimatize to the scorching Californian desert heat, putting in long practice sessions to ensure he was ready for the challenge.

Sinner has struggled with hot and humid conditions in the past, including a scare at the Australian Open where cramps nearly forced him to retire. But this time, he was prepared, showing little discomfort despite temperatures soaring to 35°C during the final against Daniil Medvedev. His victory means he's now won all six ATP Masters 1000 hard-court titles, joining an elite group with Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

Despite the scorching heat, he seemed unfazed during his 7-6(6) 7-6(4) win over Daniil Medvedev on Sunday. The temperature had soared to around 35 degrees Celsius just before the 2 p.m. scheduled start time.

“It was hot but it wasn't humid, so it makes a difference,” Sinner told reporters.

“But I've been here a week before the tournament started. Very similar conditions as it was today. We put in long days of practice. I felt very well prepared, so I wasn't having issues with the weather and the heat, which is very positive for me.

“It's all part of the process we're trying to do and becoming ‌the best possible athlete. We definitely do a lot of work in the gym to play at this level.”

Jannik Sinner's Indian Wells win is a huge milestone - he's now bagged titles at all six ATP Masters 1000 events on hardcourts, plus the ATP Finals, Australian Open, and US Open, joining the likes of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

This victory showcases Sinner's dominance on hard courts, with an impressive 81.3% winning percentage on the surface. He's clearly one of the best, and it's exciting to see him continue to grow and achieve more.

“I knew that this was a ‌tournament I haven't won, so I wanted to prepare in the best possible way, as professionally as possible,” ‌he said.

“Having this achievement now means a lot to me. Now I have couple of days to relax ... there is not so much time in between here and Miami.”

“It's again an important tournament in Miami, but we try to play the best tennis ‌possible there too.”
