Rodrigo Gomes' 78th-minute strike and André's deflected winner seal dramatic win for Wolves...
Wolves pulled off a stunning 2-1 win over Liverpool, thanks to André's first goal for the club, which came in stoppage time. This marks Wolves' first back-to-back Premier League wins since April 2025. Despite being relegated, Wolves' fearless attitude has sparked a mini-revival, with four points from their last two home games against Arsenal and Aston Villa.
Liverpool's struggles continued as they fell behind to Rodrigo Gomes' 78th-minute strike, only to equalize five minutes later through Mohamed Salah's first goal in 11 top-flight games. However, André's late winner, which deflected off Joe Gomez, sealed the win for Wolves. This defeat raises questions about Liverpool's chances of qualifying for next season's Champions League.
Eager to avoid becoming their next high-profile scalp, Liverpool started positively, with Cody Gakpo testing the water early on with a long-range effort that was easily collected by José Sá.
Liverpool pressed forward again in search of an early opener, but Jeremie Frimpong blazed his effort over the bar after a superb surging run and pass from Hugo Ekitiké.
Wolves happily soaked up Liverpool's pressure in the first half, keeping them at bay with ease. The half was forgettable, but things were about to change quickly.
Rob Edwards’ side failed to register a solitary attempt on goal by the time the half-time whistle blew, while a Liverpool team expected to dominate proceedings mustered just two first-half shots on target.
Slot’s men had a penalty shout turned down just after the restart when Frimpong’s cross appeared to hit Ladislav Krejčí’s arm before going behind, and they went close to breaking the deadlock from the resulting corner.
Ekitiké flicked on Salah's corner towards Curtis Jones, but Gakpo got in the way, clearing it inadvertently. The ball rebounded off the bar and away.
Ekitiké wasn't done - he drove down the right and delivered a great cross, intercepted by Krejčí, who helped Sá gather it safely with Mac Allister waiting.
Then came the shocker: Tolu Arokodare beat Virgil van Dijk to a long ball, and Rodrigo Gomes scored with a clever dinked finish over Alisson, putting Wolves ahead in the 78th minute. The place erupted.
Rio Ngumhoma almost equalized, but Sá made a brilliant save, parrying the deflected strike onto the post.
The Reds did equalize though - Mohamed Salah intercepted Bellegarde's pass and scored with a toe-poked finish past Sá. Salah's first PL goal since November.
Liverpool pushed hard for an equalizer in stoppage time, but Wolves snatched the win. André's strike deflected off Joe Gomez and sealed the 2-1 win in dramatic fashion.

Wolves are still 11 points off safety, but this win's given fans hope. With performances like this, anything feels possible
Liverpool might be kicking themselves for missing the chance to solidify their top-five spot in the Premier League, especially with the UEFA Champions League qualification race heating up. They're currently fifth with 48 points, but Chelsea is breathing down their necks in sixth place. If Chelsea beats Aston Villa, they'll leapfrog Liverpool.
The Reds' chances of qualifying for next season's Champions League have definitely taken a hit after their 2-1 loss to Wolves. England is almost guaranteed a fifth Champions League spot, and Liverpool's hoping to grab one of those coveted places
