Jonas Vingegaard, the current leader of Paris-Nice, addressed criticism from some riders in the peloton on Friday. They were reportedly upset after he dominated Thursday's stage, securing another victory and extending his overall lead by an additional two minutes.

Vingegaard's Response to Criticism

Jonas Vingegaard, the Danish leader of Paris-Nice, is unfazed by accusations of gloating after extending his lead in the race. In an interview with TV2 Sport, the Dane responded coolly: “There were some who were a little incomprehensible. But we are allowed to go after the stage, just like they are. I don't care. They can think what they want. I took two extra minutes, so now it looks good,” he told TV2 Sport.

Vingegaard Explains His Attack

Vingegaard insists his attack on Thursday's stage wasn't premeditated, shrugging off suggestions he was trying to humiliate his competitors. The move caught his rivals off guard, allowing him to gain an extra two minutes on the overall classification.

Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) has consolidated his overall lead in Paris-Nice, heading into the final weekend with a commanding position. Meanwhile, Colombian rider Harold Tejada (XDS-Astana) scored his first WorldTour win and second professional victory, taking the 6th stage.

Tejada narrowly edged out a small group, led by Dorian Godon and Lewis Askey, to take the win in a thrilling finish in Apt. The riders hurtled down the steep descent off Côte de Saignon and through the narrow streets of the finish town, making for a heart-stopping finale
