Spurs' Kinsky makes costly errors, gifts Atletico goals in 5-2 loss...

Tottenham's young goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky is determined to bounce back from his nightmare debut against Atletico Madrid. Kinsky was substituted off just 17 minutes into the game after conceding three goals, with interim manager Igor Tudor opting to replace him with Guglielmo Vicario.

Kinsky's mistakes, including a slip that led to Atletico's first goal and a misplaced pass that gifted Julian Alvarez the third, proved costly for Spurs. Despite the tough start, Kinsky has received support from teammates and fans, with Tottenham defender Kevin Danso saying, “It's a difficult situation but we as a team will definitely get around him.”

Igor Tudor's decision to start Antonin Kinsky in goal quickly backfired as the young Czech goalkeeper made two costly errors, gifting Atletico Madrid goals through Marcos Llorente and Julian Alvarez. Kinsky slipped while trying to clear the ball, allowing Llorente to score in the sixth minute, and then misplaced a pass to Alvarez, who scored the third goal in the 15th minute. Tudor promptly substituted Kinsky for Guglielmo Vicario after just 17 minutes.

Tottenham's night got worse as defender Micky van de Ven slipped to gift Antoine Griezmann Atletico's second goal, sandwiched between Antonin Kinsky's two errors. The young goalkeeper's Champions League debut was turning into a disaster.

Kinsky took to Instagram to express his gratitude for the support, saying, “Thanks for the messages. From dream to nightmare to dream again. See you.” It's clear the young goalkeeper is determined to bounce back from this tough experience.

Antonin Kinsky joined Tottenham from Slavia Prague in January 2025 for a fee reportedly exceeding £10 million, signing a contract until 2031. Most of his 13 appearances for the club came during a period when regular goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario was injured, shortly after Kinsky's move to London.

Kinsky's time at Tottenham hasn't been without challenges. He made his Champions League debut against Atletico Madrid, but it was a nightmare, conceding three goals in the first 15 minutes and getting substituted off after just 17 minutes. Interim manager Igor Tudor explained that the decision was made to “preserve the guy and preserve the team.”
