South Korea's women's curling team defeated Sweden 8-3, improving to 5-3 and inching closer to the semifinals at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.

Korea's 8-3 win moves them up to fourth with five wins and three losses...

Sweden's women's curling team suffered a tough 8-3 loss to South Korea, ending their six-game winning streak. Despite this, they've already secured a spot in the semi-finals, having progressed with two matches to spare.

South Korea, on the other hand, is now in the top four with one match left to play in the Round Robin. Their win moves them into a good position to join Sweden in the semi-finals. Gim Eun-ji's team will face Canada next, a crucial match to solidify their spot.

South Korea got off to a flying start, thanks to Gim Eunji's perfect take-out that secured three points after the first end.

A crucial mistake from Anna Hasselborg in end two allowed Korea to steal one, and they built on that momentum in the third. Hasselborg's attempt to disrupt Korea's game backfired, and they stole two more points.

The Swedes' chances took a hit in the fourth end, with an over-rotation on their take-out leaving the hammer stone wide, and Korea capitalized, stealing two more to go 8-0 up.

The match was effectively over, with Korea's strong start proving too much for the Swedes.

Sweden fought back, taking one point in each of the next three ends, but it wasn't enough to change the tide.

Korea's 8-3 win moves them up to fourth with five wins and three losses. Sweden stays top with six wins and two losses, but needs a win over China tonight to secure first place.
