Marseille threw away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Strasbourg, extending their winless streak to three Ligue 1 games. The hosts were manager-less after Roberto De Zerbi's exit, with Jacques Abardonado taking charge temporarily.
Strasbourg dominated early on, and Marseille almost got off to a nightmare start. But they fought back to level the game, thanks to a 97th-minute penalty.
The first real chance of the game fell to the home side on four minutes, with Martial Godo's header being tipped to safety by Geronimo Rulli's incredible diving save. That save sparked a turnaround, and they took the lead just 14 minutes in.
Aubameyang had two great chances to put Marseille 2-0 up, but Penders in goal for Strasbourg was solid, denying him twice in 30 seconds.
The visitors, Marseille, were struggling to create chances, while Strasbourg's attack was gaining momentum. They almost scored just before half-time through Joaquin Panichelli's effort that hit the roof of the net.
Despite an impressive first half, Penders was at fault immediately after the break as he failed to convincingly deal with a backpass, and was duly punished by Gouiri, who created space at the edge of the area before curling the ball home via the far post.
Entering the final 20 minutes, it looked like the outcome was a foregone conclusion, but the visitors struck back out of nowhere with 16 minutes to go after Sebastian Nanasi’s deflected effort left Rulli helpless before looping in at the far post.

Just when it looked like the home side had done enough, Strasbourg earned a penalty deep into stoppage time when Emerson Palmieri clumsily wiped out Gessime Yassine.
A lengthy wait to take the spot-kick could’ve unnerved Panichelli, but he found just enough power to beat Rulli, with the Argentine goalkeeper getting a solid hand on the ball.
Marseille's title challenge is fading fast, with the team winless in three games and 11 points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
Strasbourg halted their losing streak with the late equalizer, moving within two points of the top six under Gary O'Neil
