Roma secured a 3-1 win over Cremonese, with goals from Matias Soulé, Wesley, and Evan Ferguson, who scored his first goal for the Giallorossi. This victory keeps Roma at the top of the Serie A table.

The Giallorossi were missing several key players, including Paulo Dybala, Artem Dovbyk, Leon Bailey, Angelino, and Mario Hermoso, while Evan Ferguson was also not at full fitness. As a result, Soulé was deployed as a False 9, with Tommaso Baldanzi and Jan Ziolkowski also featuring in the lineup.

Cremonese players wore special shirts with the names of important women in their lives as part of a campaign against violence against women. They also had red marks on their faces. The game got intense early on, with Mile Svilar making a tough save on Federico Bonazzoli's shot.

Roma broke the deadlock moments later, though, and took the lead.

Matias Soulé scored a stunning goal, bending a left-foot finish around Emil Audero into the near bottom corner from the edge of the area, thanks to a great lay-off from Manu Kone. Roma thought they had doubled their lead on 26 minutes, but Tommaso Baldanzi's shot was followed by an offside flag, denying them a second goal. Baldanzi's effort had stung Audero's gloves, and Lorenzo Pellegrini was poised to tap in the rebound, but the midfielder was ruled offside.

Cremonese pushed hard for an equalizer, with Svilar making a crucial push to deflect Jari Vandeputte's shot onto the post, and then scrambling to parry the follow-up. Audero also made an incredible fingertip save to push Pellegrini's finish over.

There was drama as Cremonese were awarded a penalty, but it was overturned after VAR review. Gianluca Mancini's hand was deemed to be in a natural position when struck from close range, so the penalty was ruled out.

Ziolkowski struggled in the first half and was replaced, with Bryan Cristante shifting into the back three. Meanwhile, Cremonese's Martin Payero left the pitch with a shoulder injury. Soulé had a chance to extend Roma's lead, but his shot went wide despite a great assist from Wesley.

Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini wasn't happy with the officials, earning a yellow card for dissent. He continued to argue, resulting in a second yellow card and an early exit.

Evan Ferguson came off the bench and scored his first goal for Roma, just four minutes after entering the game. He swept the ball into the net with his right foot from 12 yards, thanks to a lay-off from Neil El Aynaoui.

Roma's momentum continued as they scored their third goal, with Wesley finishing delicately over Audero. This followed an inspired pass from Stephan El Shaarawy, who slid the ball through from midfield.

Evan Ferguson thought he'd scored a fourth goal in the final minute, but unfortunately, he was offside when his shot went in off the underside of the bar. Instead, Cremonese got a consolation goal in stoppage time when Francesco Folino headed in a corner at the back post, scoring his first Serie A goal.
