England international Ben Chilwell has left Chelsea to join French club Strasbourg on a two-year deal. The move comes after Chilwell's limited playing time under new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

The transfer fee remains undisclosed, but the deal solidifies Chilwell's exit from Chelsea. As Strasbourg is owned by the same BlueCo consortium as Chelsea, the move highlights the connection between the two sister clubs.

Ben Chilwell, 28, spent four years at Chelsea after joining in 2020. During his time at Stamford Bridge, he was part of the team that won the Champions League in 2021. However, he gradually fell out of favor, making only one appearance last season before being loaned to Crystal Palace.

At Crystal Palace, Chilwell played a key role in their FA Cup-winning campaign. His performances earned him recognition, but his future now lies elsewhere as he departs Chelsea. Interestingly, his new team might face Crystal Palace in the UEFA Conference League, setting up a potential reunion.

Ben Chilwell has earned 21 caps for England, although his last appearance was in March of last year. His experience and skill will be valuable assets for his new team, Strasbourg.

At Strasbourg, Chilwell will work under English coach Liam Rosenior and reunite with fellow Chelsea products, including young midfielder Mathis Amougou and full-back Ishe Samuels-Smith. This connection to Chelsea might ease his transition to the Ligue 1 side.

Chelsea and Strasbourg, sister clubs under the BlueCo consortium, have seen several player movements recently. Goalkeeper Mike Penders and Ecuadorian starlet Kendry Paez have moved from Chelsea to Alsace on loan deals.

Strasbourg's Mamadou Sarr was bought by a Premier League team, believed to be Chelsea, before being loaned back to the French club. These transfers highlight the close relationship and player exchange between the two clubs.
