Chelsea's Summer Clearout: 14 Players Set to Leave Stamford Bridge
Chelsea is gearing up for a major summer overhaul. Discover which stars are on the transfer list and what this means for the team's future.
Chelsea is gearing up for a major summer overhaul, with 14 players, including Noni Madueke, João Félix, and Christopher Nkunku, potentially leaving the club. Under new manager Enzo Maresca, the team aims to refresh its squad. This move comes after a successful season, where Chelsea secured a Champions League spot with a top-four finish and lifted the Conference League trophy with a dominant win over Real Betis.
Enzo Maresca is expected to receive backing in the transfer market after his first season, but he'll need to sell several players deemed surplus to requirements first. According to The Guardian, Noni Madueke and João Félix are among the players likely to be sold, with Félix's potential departure to AC Milan being a notable example after a disappointing stint despite a £45 million transfer fee.
According to reports, Chelsea believes Noni Madueke's development has plateaued, and they think it's time for him to leave. Christopher Nkunku, who joined from RB Leipzig for £52.7 million in 2023, hasn't lived up to expectations, with rumors linking him to a potential move to Bayern Munich.

Several Chelsea players, including Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carney Chukwuemeka, Lesley Ugochukwu, Robert Sánchez, Djordje Petrovic, Renato Veiga, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, and Wesley Fofana, are on the transfer list and will be sold if the right offer comes in. Notably, Fofana joined for £70m in 2022, Sánchez cost £30m from Brighton, and Dewsbury-Hall arrived for £30m last summer. Chelsea may struggle to recoup their investments in these players, potentially leading to significant financial losses this summer.
Trevoh Chalobah and Raheem Sterling are also among the players whose futures are uncertain. Sterling, who earns £325,000 per week and has two years left on his contract, had a failed move to Arsenal, which didn't work out as he was mostly left out of Mikel Arteta's plans. Regardless of what happens with these 14 players, Chelsea is in for a hectic summer as they rebuild their squad to compete in the Champions League and potentially challenge for the title.
