Inzaghi's Praise for Inter Players Amidst Roma Loss
Inter Milan's season on the line as they suffer a 1-0 loss to AS Roma, marking their third consecutive defeat. Get the latest updates.
Simone Inzaghi commended his Inter Milan players for their effort and commitment in Sunday's 1-0 loss to AS Roma, but acknowledged it wasn't enough to avoid a third defeat in a week. The loss at San Siro follows Inter's Coppa Italia exit against AC Milan and puts their season at risk.
Back-to-back league losses, including a 1-0 defeat at Bologna last weekend, have left Inter level on points with Napoli. If Napoli wins against Torino later on Sunday, they could open up a gap at the top of the table, further pressuring Inter's title bid.
“This week we come from three defeats which hurt, but the squad tried with great lucidity,” Inzaghi told DAZN.

“In the first half, we put our hearts into it, the fans saw that. Unfortunately, a very important game lost at home, but the embrace of our supporters made us happy, despite the defeat.
“In the second half, we put our soul on the pitch as always, and they will always have my gratitude. We deserved more, but this is football.”
Inter won't have much time to dwell on their recent setbacks, as they'll need to swiftly regroup for the Champions League semi-final first leg against Barcelona at Camp Nou on Wednesday. Barcelona, fresh from their Copa del Rey triumph over Real Madrid, will pose a significant challenge for Inzaghi's side.
“We are not used to three defeats, talking about corners, throw-ins, penalties, that's useless,” Inzaghi said.
“We have to recover energy, in three days we leave for Barcelona, we don't need to look at their game last night to understand what kind of team it is, we go there with respect but not with fear.
“We have to react to this week at a busy time, a positive result can give you the turning point, but we have to find it within ourselves.”
