Arsenal's Financial Report Reveals £17.7m Deficit
Arsenal Football Club reports a £17.7 million loss for the 2023/24 season, despite achieving record revenues of £616.6 million.
Arsenal Football Club has reported significant financial losses for the 2023/24 season, despite achieving record revenues. The club's financial reports revealed a loss of £17.7 million, a substantial deficit considering their impressive on-field performance.
The Gunners' return to the Champions League was a major factor in their record-breaking revenue of £616.6 million. This marked a significant increase from the previous season, driven largely by a £71 million rise in broadcasting revenue and a £29 million boost in matchday income. Arsenal's successful campaign saw them narrowly miss out on the Premier League title, finishing second to Manchester City, and reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League, where they were eliminated by Bayern Munich.
The club's commercial income also experienced significant growth, reaching £218.3 million. This surge was largely due to the renewal of Arsenal's sponsorship agreement with Emirates, as well as the sale of naming rights to the training ground to Sobha Realty. However, the club's wage bill skyrocketed to £327.8 million, a substantial increase from the previous season's £234.8 million.
Although Arsenal reported a significant loss of £17.7 million for the 2023/24 season, the figures represent an improvement on the previous year's £52.1 million deficit. This reduction in losses suggests that the club is making progress in managing its finances.

I imagine City’s is going to be near £200k
We obviously have too many senior players
Offloading players like Zinchenko, Partey and Jorginho will help but that’s still huge, we need more kids in the squad https://t.co/Y8p26ymXBT
In a statement, Arsenal emphasized its commitment to financial sustainability, saying: “The club continues to be compliant with all applicable financial sustainability regulations put in place by UEFA and the Premier League.” The statement also highlighted the club's on-field successes, including consecutive qualifications for the UEFA Champions League for both the men's and women's teams.
Looking ahead to the remainder of the 2024/25 season, Arsenal is well-positioned to achieve further success. The team currently sits second in the Premier League, seven points behind leaders Liverpool, with 13 games remaining. Additionally, Arsenal has progressed to the last 16 of the Champions League, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion to the season.
