The Houston Texans brought back defensive end Jadeveon Clowney on Sunday with a new signing.

Clowney, 33, is returning to Houston for a second run. The Texans originally took him No. 1 overall in the 2014 NFL Draft.

He now lands with the NFL's top-ranked defense as Houston chases another Super Bowl run.

Clowney is set for his 13th season. Last year with the Cowboys he logged 41 tackles and 8.5 sacks in 13 games.

Clowney spent the first five seasons of his career in Houston. Since then he’s bounced around, with stops in Seattle in 2019, Tennessee in 2020, Cleveland from 2021-2022, Baltimore in 2023, and Carolina in 2024.

He missed a few games last year due to shoulder and knee issues. Outside of that, he hasn’t sat out more than five games in a season since 2020.

Since entering the league, Clowney has piled up 450 tackles, 149 QB hits, 120 tackles for loss, and 66.5 sacks. He also has 36 pass breakups, 16 forced fumbles, and leads all defensive ends with three fumble-return touchdowns.
