Trabzonspor have announced the signing of Fabinho, with the Brazilian midfielder set for a reunion with ex-Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah.

The former Liverpool midfielder is a free agent after leaving Saudi club Al Ittihad this summer, and Trabzonspor moved quickly to bring him in alongside Salah.  

Trabzonspor released a video of Fabinho arriving on a private jet and posing in the club shirt.

“A familiar face is waiting for me in Trabzon,” Fabinho said in the club’s social media post, referring to Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah who joined earlier this summer.  

Salah has already hit the ground running for the Turkish side, scoring both goals in a 2-1 win over Basaksehir. His brace has helped Trabzonspor start the season unbeaten after two games.

Trabzonspor posted: “Fabinho is coming! We await all our fans at Trabzon Airport at 11:30 AM for the big meeting and to welcome the Brazilian star.” 

Salah was given a massive welcome on arrival, with tens of thousands of fans greeting him with flares and chants of his name.

He called the reception “incredible” and said he couldn’t put into words how much love he had received, with reports claiming around 25,000 people were there to greet him.

Salah, 34, and Fabinho, 32, will not be joined by ex-Liverpool teammate Darwin Nunez. The striker’s move to Trabzonspor collapsed earlier this summer and he is now set to join Al Diriyah on loan from Al Hilal.
