Spalletti: Kolo Muani Has “A Lot Of Work To Do” At Juventus

Juventus boss Luciano Spalletti says Randal Kolo Muani still has plenty to prove after a quiet Serie A debut in Juve’s 1-0 win over Frosinone on Sunday.

The 27-year-old is back in Turin for a second stint. He spent six months on loan at Juve last season and signed a five-year deal worth €38m, about $44.35m, earlier this month.  

Juventus brought in the ex-PSG striker to fill the gap left by Dusan Vlahovic, who left for Besiktas.

During his first stint at Juve, Kolo Muani netted 10 goals in 22 games before PSG sent him on loan to Tottenham for the 2025-26 season.

Speaking to DAZN after Sunday’s Serie A opener, Spalletti said Kolo Muani should have scored. Gleison Bremer’s goal proved to be the winner.

“We went out and signed him (Kolo Muani), we've looked after him and we know his worth, but he needs to realise he hasn't played for two years and there must be a reason for that,” he said.

“Sometimes you think you're ‌at an exceptional level, but then you've left something behind and you have to ‌go and get it back.

“Kolo knows how to hold onto the ball, find space and is physically strong, but these are the sort of matches where he needs ⁠to score goals.”
