Sabalenka overpowers Ostapenko, books Osaka showdown at Wimbledon...
World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka moved closer to a first Wimbledon title with a dominant straight-sets win over Jelena Ostapenko on Friday.
The Belarusian beat the Latvian 6-4, 6-4 and will now face four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka in the fourth round on Sunday.
Sabalenka is chasing a 15th straight Grand Slam quarter-final. Meanwhile, former world No.1 Osaka has been in strong form, reaching the fourth round at Wimbledon for the first time in her career.
“She’s another aggressive, powerful player,” Sabalenka said of Osaka. “I’m ready to fight and do whatever it takes to get through.”
The Belarusian leads their head-to-head 3-1.
What she does best.

Sabalenka has fallen in the Wimbledon semi-finals in each of her last three appearances.
The 28-year-old also faced Osaka in the French Open semi-finals last month, winning in straight sets. But her run in Paris ended with an unexpected quarter-final defeat to Diana Shnaider.
Former French Open champion Ostapenko offered some fight in the second set, but she never really looked like troubling Sabalenka.
