Rays’ Junior Caminero makes history with six-game home run streak...

Tampa Bay’s Junior Caminero made history Wednesday, becoming the youngest player since 1900 to homer in six consecutive games after hitting his sixth in the streak.

The 22-year-old took the first pitch he saw from Royals starter Seth Lugo and drove it deep to left field in the top of the first inning.

Over his last eight games alone, Caminero has gone off with nine home runs and 20 RBI. That pushes his season numbers to 24 homers, 54 RBI, and a .295/.385/.564 slash line.

The Dominican slugger followed up a breakout 2024 campaign with Tampa Bay where he crushed 45 home runs and drove in 110. He also made noise for his country in this year’s World Baseball Classic, hitting .350 with three homers and seven RBI for the Dominican Republic.

The 2025 All-Star is currently leading Kazuma Okamoto of the Blue Jays in Phase 2 AL All-Star voting 66% to 34%, and he’s locked in for this year’s Home Run Derby as well.
