The Edmonton Oilers signed goaltender Frederik Andersen on Wednesday to a one-year contract worth $2.8 million.
The deal is structured with a $1 million base salary plus up to $1.8 million in performance bonuses.
At 36, Andersen is coming off a dominant playoff run with Carolina, going 13-2 while posting a 1.89 GAA, .910 save percentage, and a league-best three shutouts.
The veteran is now set for his 12th NHL season and will team up again with former Maple Leafs linemate Zach Hyman in Edmonton, a team that’s been searching for stability in net.
During the regular season, he went 16-14-5 across 35 starts, with a 3.05 GAA and an .874 save percentage.

Andersen played five years with Carolina from 2021 to 2025, following three seasons with Anaheim from 2013 to 2016 and four with Toronto from 2016 to 2020.
The two-time Jennings Trophy winner owns a career record of 324-149-58, with a 2.59 GAA, .913 save percentage, and 28 shutouts.
