Paris Saint-Germain clinched a fifth straight Ligue 1 title with goals from Kvaratskhelia and Mbaye, becoming only the second club to achieve the feat.
After securing a fifth straight Ligue 1 title, PSG now aim to beat Arsenal and defend their Champions League crown...
Paris Saint-Germain have clinched the Ligue 1 title for a fifth straight season.
A win over Lens secured the championship, marking PSG’s 14th French league title overall.
PSG’s title charge wasn’t flawless, with losses to Lyon, Monaco, Marseille and Rennes, plus five draws along the way. Those dropped points allowed Lens to stay in contention.
Still, three wins in four matches meant Luis Enrique’s side went into the game against Lens knowing that avoiding defeat would secure the title, and they delivered.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia gave PSG the lead in the 29th minute. Lens had several good chances to equalize but couldn’t convert, and Ibrahim Mbaye sealed the championship with a 2-0 goal in stoppage time.

This marks the first time PSG have won five Ligue 1 titles in a row, making them only the second club to achieve it after Lyon’s run from 2001 to 2006.
Lyon followed that streak with two more titles in succession, and PSG will be confident of matching that feat.
For now, though, their focus shifts to the Champions League, where a win over Arsenal would see them defend their crown and strengthen their case as one of football’s all-time great sides.
