Jalen Brunson led the way once more as the surging New York Knicks downed the Philadelphia 76ers 108-94 on Friday, putting them one win away from the Eastern Conference finals.

The victory marked New York’s sixth in a row. They haven’t lost since coming back from a 2-1 deficit against Atlanta in the opening round.

After sealing game two for New York in a tight finish, Brunson stayed in control with 33 points and 9 assists.

He got strong support on defense, with Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart combining for 23 rebounds to push the Knicks to a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven matchup.

No NBA team has ever overturned a 3-0 deficit in a seven-game playoff series.

Playing before a loud home crowd for the first time in the series, Philadelphia started with high intensity right from tipoff.

Paul George scored 15 points in the opening quarter for the Sixers, helping them build a 12-point lead against a Knicks team without the injured OG Anunoby.

New York responded right away, locking in on defense and dropping 33 points on 57% shooting in the second quarter to take a halftime lead.

Karl-Anthony Towns and Joel Embiid, who had returned for Philadelphia, got into a physical battle, picking up three fouls each before the break in a matchup that felt like a wrestling match at times.

Philadelphia cut it to two late in the third, but then went cold, missing six straight shots that included airballs from VJ Edgecombe and Quentin Grimes.

Fueled by another late surge from Brunson, the Knicks opened up a clear lead in the fourth quarter as Philadelphia’s comeback hopes faded. After his hot start, George went scoreless for the rest of the game.

With the win, the Knicks solidified their position as the betting favorites to reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999.
