Bologna snatched a late winner to edge Napoli 3-2 in a five-goal thriller that added another twist to the fight for Champions League qualification in Serie A.
Napoli’s fans were loud from kickoff at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, but their celebrations were cut short when Bologna struck to silence the stadium just 10 minutes in.
Federico Bernardeschi put the visitors ahead with a thunderous strike into the top corner after Juan Miranda laid the ball off to him in the box. It was his third Serie A goal this season.
Antonio Conte’s men nearly fell further behind two minutes later when Miranda’s shot came back off the woodwork.
Napoli eventually showed signs of life, and Scott McTominay had a golden chance to level things around the 30-minute mark. He headed wide from close range after meeting a corner in a great position.
Just when Napoli seemed to be working their way back into the game, Bologna made it 2-0 from the spot in the 34th minute.

After VAR reviewed the incident, the referee pointed to the spot for a foul on Juan Miranda by Giovanni Di Lorenzo. Riccardo Orsolini stepped up and slotted home to give Bologna their second of the night.
The drama kept coming before half-time, as Giovanni Di Lorenzo pounced on slack Bologna defending to smash one in from close range and pull Napoli back to 2-1 in stoppage time.

Whatever Antonio Conte said at half-time worked. Three minutes after the restart, Rasmus Hojlund set up Alisson Santos, and the Brazilian midfielder finished neatly to make it 2-2, sparking wild scenes among the home fans.

But with time almost up, Bologna snatched it back. Jonathan Rowe produced an acrobatic finish deep into stoppage time to give the visitors a dramatic 3-2 win.
