Taylor Jenkins is set to be hired as head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks after six seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies, multiple reports said Thursday.

The 41-year-old previously served as a Bucks assistant under Mike Budenholzer during the 2018-19 season.

Jenkins left in June 2019 to become head coach of Memphis, compiling a 250-214 record before he was fired in March 2025 with nine games left in the season.

Jenkins would take over from Doc Rivers, who resigned as Bucks head coach 10 days ago after three seasons. Milwaukee suffered two first-round playoff exits under Rivers and missed the postseason this year, snapping a nine-year playoff run.

The 64-year-old Rivers led Boston to the 2008 NBA title and owns a career coaching record of 1,194-866.

The hire comes as the Bucks look to convince star Giannis Antetokounmpo to stay with the franchise.
