Monaco's winning streak in Ligue 1 ended abruptly with a 4-1 thrashing by Paris FC, snapping their seven-match winning run.

Paris FC got the strong start they needed, racing into a two-goal lead inside eight minutes. This was just enough to spark an electric start, securing their third-ever head-to-head win over Monaco.

Monaco struggled to contain Moses Simon's pace on the left, and he exploited the space to cut inside and send in a low cross for Jonathan Ikone to score at the back post.

Before the visitors could recover, they were caught out on the other wing, with Ikoné involved again. He linked up with Marshall Munetsi, setting up Ciro Immobile for an easy finish – the Italian veteran scored his second goal in as many games.

Lukas Hradecky and Wout Faes combined to block Maxime Lopez's shot, briefly keeping Monaco in the game. But it was a short respite.

Kevin Trapp made two crucial saves to deny Simon Adingra and Ansu Fati, only for Paris to launch a stunning counter. Ciro Immobile found Jonathan Ikoné, who scored his second goal of the night in similar fashion to his first, putting the game beyond Monaco.

Lopez then wasted a chance, firing over the bar. But Monaco regrouped and applied pressure before halftime.

Folarin Balogun had a chance to score at the back post, but contrived to fire over. He made up for it soon after, scoring his seventh Ligue 1 goal in a row – a feat last achieved by Neymar in 2022.

Monaco had the momentum, and Trapp made a crucial save to deny Fati again in stoppage time. The break was a welcome respite for Paris.

After the restart, Kombouaré's men came out strong, but they lacked a clinical edge, failing to capitalize on promising counters.

Paul Pogba's introduction from the bench initially sparked Monaco's hopes, but it was short-lived – they conceded again just two minutes later, effectively ending the contest.

Luca Koleosho, who came off the bench just six minutes earlier, struck a stunning goal from distance, leaving Hradecky helpless as the ball arrowed in off the underside of the bar.

That goal sealed Paris FC's biggest win of the season, extending their unbeaten run to seven matches and moving them 12 points clear of the drop zone. Monaco, meanwhile, suffered their first Ligue 1 defeat since January, missing out on a top-three spot.
